Extended-Stay Rooms in Elkhart, IN

A family-owned motel on South Main Street. Sixteen queen suites, each with its own entrance, its own washer, and a fair price.

Elkhart is a working town.

Its RV manufacturing industry draws contractors, visiting business travelers, and service crews whose jobs can keep them here for weeks. Families relocating to the area may need a place to land while they find their footing, too. For all of them, a single night in a standard hotel is not the whole story.

“They need a room that works as well on day twelve as it did on night one.”

Residential Inn at 3214 S Main St has been family-owned and operating since 2019. Its 16 rooms are designed around the everyday needs of a longer stay, with private entrances and individual washers.

It’s a small motel with a clear purpose: making an extended stay feel more manageable.

What’s in the room

Every room is a Queen Suite: 325 square feet, one queen bed, sleeping up to two adults. Each one has:

Its own exterior entrance, so you walk straight from your car to your door

A private bathroom

An in-room washing machine

A refrigerator and microwave

Air conditioning and heating, controlled in the room

A flat-screen TV with cable

Free high-speed WiFi

Free on-site parking in a well-lit lot, near your room

The property is non-smoking, and the rooms have smoke detectors. Housekeeping is daily.

Why the washer and the fridge matter

One or two nights in a hotel is one thing. Two weeks is another.

By then, the laundry has piled up, the restaurant meals have gotten expensive, and the little inconveniences start to shape your days.

An in-room washer lets you do laundry on your own schedule. A microwave and refrigerator mean you can heat up your meals and also store the leftovers. And with a private entrance, you can come and go without crossing a lobby every time. They're simple features, but over a longer stay, they make daily life easier.

Comfort matters during longer stays.
